Phil Lord and Chris Miller are reported to have walked away from directing Ghostbusters 3.
The duo behind The Lego Movie and the upcoming 21 Jump Street were in line to direct the long-awaited sequel but - according to The Wrap's Jeff Sneider - they have decided to exit the project.
Sneider tweeted the following: “Hearing LORD & MILLER ended up walking away from GHOSTBUSTERS 3 job. They were the studio's choice but wanted to keep their options open...”
This is not the first time such an event has occurred on the much-stalled movie. Original director Ivan Reitman left the movie following the death of star Harold Ramis earlier this year.
Lord and Miller are currently working on 21 Jump Street - a film version of the TV drama that launched Johnny Depp’s career back in the 1990s - which will be released in June.
