Big Bang Theory renewed for 3 more seasons

The Big Bang Theory has been renewed for three more seasons by CBS.

The very popular comedy show which stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco plays on RTÉ Two in Ireland and has been the top comedy among adults aged 18 – 49 in the US since 2010.

CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler said "Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television.”

The renewal means the show will run to at least ten season and will be on air until 2016 – 17. The show also stars Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch.

As the future of the show has been secured it is now expected that the studio Warner Bros which produces in will have to focus on new contract for Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco who according to The Hollywood Reporter are seeking salary increases.

Helberg and Nayyar are expected to negotiate together while Bialik and Rauch both recently signed new contracts with the studio.
