Six became four on Tuesday's opening show

The first two contestants were eliminated from the new series of MasterChef Ireland on RTÉ One on Tuesday night, and the kitchen heats up again tonight, Wednesday March 5, at 8.30pm.

Warning: spoiler alert!

Emma Clarke and Claudio Moscati were the two unlucky amateur chefs on Tuesday night's opening episode.

On Wednesday's episode, Rich Dales, Charlie Day, Gary Keegan and Niamh Mannion will work a busy lunch service at Dublin hotels The Dylan (Charlie and Gary) and The Shelbourne (Niamh and Rich).

Later, back at the MasterChef Ireland kitchen, they will cook for a place in the final 10 of the competition, using chicken as their key ingredient.
