The stars of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues walked the red carpet in Dublin last night at an Irish premiere for the comedy sequel.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the Savoy Cinema on O’Connell Street to see stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner as they reprise their roles as Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind.
The stars walked the red carpet and chatted to fans who had waited for hours before going into the cinema and treating the audience to a chorus of Happy Birthday to Ireland.
Ferrell, who has family connections in Longford, said how much he enjoyed returning to Ireland saying “I'd love to sail around the entire country some day and be rescued by the Irish Coast Guard.” He also suggested that he would be taking a swim in the Liffey later last night and encouraging fans to join him.
Irish stars of film and TV also walked the red carpet with Transformers actor Jack Reynor and Frank star Domhnall Gleeson spotted. Love/Hate stars Peter Cooney and Aoibhinn McGinnity also attended last night.
