Actor and Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams has said he may compete on Strictly Come Dancing "one day", having taken dance lessons with Miranda Hart for their new Christmas TV comedy.

The pair took dance lessons for a scene in BBC One's Gangsta Granny, an adaptation of Walliams' best-selling children's book, in which he and Hart will play a Strictly-obsessed couple.

Speaking to Radio Times, Walliams said of Strictly Come Dancing:  "I think it's the one show that would be fun to do. You don't have to eat kangaroo testicles at any point - unless, of course, you want to.

"And there's no humiliation involved. You can be rubbish at it but the public can still like you and find you entertaining. So maybe one day."

As for his dance lessons for Gangsta Granny, Walliams said: "We got a bit carried away, and started asking the producer who was better. Really annoyingly, she said Miranda."
