A group of well-known Irish faces are going to leave the comfort of their day jobs to perform an improv comedy charity show.

Amongst the newbie comedians raising money for the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation (CMRF) in Our Lady's Hospital Crumlin is RTÉ 2fm's Rick O'Shea.

Speaking to RTÉ TEN about taking part in Ireland's first Comedy Improv Festival, he said: "To be honest it was something I instantly regretted when I agreed to it. I'm not a comedian!

"However, I'm genuinely delighted to be doing something for the CMRF in Crumlin as I spent my fair share of time in the hospital when I was a kid with sprained ankles, wrists and the like. Just don't expect too much..."

Joining him on The Button Factory stage on Thursday, November 17, are TV presenters Daniella Moyles and Diani Bunici, 2fm's Louise Heraghty, Ruth Scott and Paddy McKenna plus magician Shane Gillen.
