Jennifer Lopez is to star in producer Jason Blum's new thriller The Boy Next Door.
According to Variety, the singer and actress - who was recently awarded a star on Hollywood Boulevard - will play a newly separated mother who embarks on an affair with a teenage neighbour.
Lopez's character faces trouble when she tries to end the relationship with the boy, who is a close friend of her son.
Blum - who produced Paranormal Activity - will make the film under his first-look deal with Universal, while xXx director Rob Cohen is reportedly in talks to direct from a script by Barbara Curry.
The Boy Next Door is just one of Blum's projects for 2014, as he will also work on Paranormal Activity 5 and Stretch.
Last month, it was confirmed that Paranormal Activity fans can expect two instalments of the series to be released next year.
Latino-themed spin-off Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones will be released on January 3 and Paranormal Activity 5 will follow in October 2014.
