EastEnders set for an arrest twist

1 of 1 Speculation begins in Albert Square about whether the accused is guilty or innocent
Speculation begins in Albert Square about whether the accused is guilty or innocent

It is reported that an EastEnders character will be arrested as part of a major storyline on the soap next month.

Warning: spoiler alert!

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) will be left fighting for his life after the dangerous driving of Carl White (Daniel Coonan).

However, police receive an anonymous tip-off that Max Branning (Jake Wood) tampered with the brakes of the car in which the men were travelling, and he is accused of causing criminal damage with intent to endanger life.

Speculation then begins in Albert Square about whether Max is guilty or innocent.

A source told the Daily Star: "Things are not looking good for Max."

The source continued: "The fact that he's had this feud with Carl and then it's Carl's car that's tampered with certainly gives him a motive.

"He's going to struggle to get out of this one."

The crash will air on BBC One and RTÉ One on Tuesday September 3.
