Sandra Oh is leaving medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, at the end of season ten, it has been revealed.
Oh told The Hollywood Reporter "Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go."
She has played the character of Dr Christina Yang in Shonda Rhimes’ medical series since 2005 for ABC but will exit at the end of season 10.
She added "It's such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well. [Cristina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go. We have to start the process, story-wise, for the Grey's writers to think of why she's going to go."
She said she had starting thinking about leaving in May 2012 after signing a two-year deal taking up her to the end of season 10 saying "I've gone through a lot of therapy over this."
There is no word yet as to how the character will leave the show.
