Spider-Man creator Stan Lee has responded to actor Andrew Garfield's suggestion that Peter Park could be bisexual.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Garfield said that he had a discussion with producer Matt Tolmach where he posed the following questions: "'What if MJ is a dude?' Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking! ... So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?"
Comicbook.com reports that when asked about this at a festival in Kentucky, the Avengers and Fantastic Four co-creator Lee said: "He's becoming bisexual? Really? Who have you been talking to?
"I don't know... seriously, I don't know anything about that. And if it's true, I'm going to make a couple of phone calls.
"I figure one sex is enough for anybody".
However when asked about his opinion of Garfield's performance in The Amazing Spider-Man and the upcoming sequel, Lee said: "I think Andy Garfield is great as Spider-Man, absolutely great
"In fact, I would have picked him for the first Spider-Man movie if he had volunteered."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released on May 2, 2014 and the two subsequent sequels will hit cinemas on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018.
