Lady Gaga has shocked fans by removing her profile picture and “temporarily” leaving the mircro-blogging site.
She has over 39 million followers, which contributed to her topping the Forbes World’s Most Powerful Musicians of 2013 list, and now, Lady Gaga has apparently left the social networking site.
The Telephone singer has removed her profile picture and replaced it with the default egg symbol. She has also posted a message which states she quitting Twitter for the time being.
The 27-year-old’s profile description now reads: ''This interface has been shutdown temporarily. Please check back for updates.''
Gaga’s fans, also known as Little Monsters, are hoping this is the start of the promotion for the singer’s upcoming their album ARTPOP, rather than her leaving Twitter for good.
The superstar also deleted tweets from February - just before she postponed several Born This Way Ball tour dates due to a hip injury, which required surgery.
Lady Gaga also has over 57 million Facebook fans.
