Dubliner Murphy moved to Ulster from Leinster in 2018, having played more than 100 times for his home province.
The versatile flanker has moved past 50 appearances for Ulster, although a long-term injury meant he featured just seven times in the 2021/22 season.
Murphy has won 30 caps for Ireland since his debut in 2014, winning three Six Nations titles. His most recent cap came at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
