The South Africa-born front rower qualifies to play with Ireland through his grandfather, Norman McFarland, who also played for Ulster.
He joined the province from Worcester in 2019 before returning to England in 2021 for a short loan spell at Saracens.
Featured 10 times in the URC in 2021/22, scoring his first Ulster try in the 29-15 win against Scarlets in January 2022.
