Danny Murphy has re-signed for Airtricity Premier League outfit Cork City for the coming season.
Defender Murphy, aged 31, made 30 league appearances for the club last season and new City boss John Caulfield is delighted at keeping Murphy on board.
Caulfield said: “Danny is a very experienced player and has great history with the club. He has played a lot of games and rarely misses a game either.
“We have a great mixture of youth and experience in the squad, and Danny is a vital signing and a valuable asset to the squad.”
London-born Murphy said: “I want to be back playing in Europe again. I want to be in the top four and challenging for trophies.
“I know John has that ambition as well, and that is where I want to be. As a club, we need to be winning things.”
