Greg Cunningham has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria.

Cunningham will report in time for training in Malahide tomorrow at 11am ahead of the match with Sweden on Friday in the Aviva Stadium.

Both Marc Wilson (foot) and Darren Randolph (thigh) underwent scans this afternoon as precautionary measures, but results have shown that both players should be fit in time for Friday’s game.

Wilson was a slight doubt for the World Cup because of an ankle injury.

QPR defender Richard Dunne nursed himself through training this morning after the after-effects of his club exertions at the weekend.

Wigan midfielder James McCarthy was conspicuous by his absence after being allowed to delay his arrival until Tuesday as Everton are poised to step up their interest in him on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Skipper Robbie Keane is due to land in Dublin later on Monday as he headed across the Atlantic once again to join up with his team-mates.
