RTÉ Sport announced today that the visit of Italian giants AC Milan to Tallaght Stadium to take on Shamrock Rovers in their Europa League second qualifying round tie on Thursday, 17 September will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.

AC Milan travel to Dublin for what will be their first competitive game of the season. In contrast, Shamrock Rovers are more than halfway through their SSE Airtricity League Premier Division campaign and sit five points clear at the top of the table with eight games remaining.

A Milan squad featuring Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will aim to overcome a Rovers side that progressed to this round after a record 12-11 penalty shootout win over Ilves Tampere of Finland in the first qualifying round.

Joey O'Brien was the Shamrock Rovers hero, scoring the spot-kick that saw them advance

Peter Collins will present live coverage from Tallaght, with Kenny Cunningham alongside George Hamilton on commentary.

Coverage begins at 6.30pm and the game kicks off at 7pm. The tie is a one-legged affair, with the winner decided on the night, and extra-time and penalties a possibility.
