Mark Kennedy has been appointed the new manager at Macclesfield Town.

The former Republic of Ireland international has signed a contract until the end of the League 2 season where he will be tasked with keeping the club in the division.  

Macclesfield are currently third from bottom in League Two. 

Kennedy is their third manager this season with Sol Campbell and Daryl McMahon previously in charge.

Ex-Crystal Palace and Southampton defender Danny Butterfield and Danny Whitaker make up Kennedy's backroom team.
