Linfield were dumped out of the Champions League after a convincing 6-0 aggregate defeat to Rosenborg.

The Norwegian side won 4-0 in Trondheim on Wednesday to easily progress from their first-round qualifying clash.

Anders Konradsen struck twice before David Akintola and Pal Andre Helland scored as David Healy's side failed to recover from their 2-0 first-leg loss.

Rosenborg knocked out Linfield in 1986-87 and 2010-11 and now face Poland's Piast Gliwice in the second round.

Linfield will play HJK Helsinki or HB Torshavn in Europa League qualifying.

Norway international Konradsen put the tie beyond Linfield's reach in the 20th minute when he converted Vegar Eggen Hedenstad's corner.

He added a second six minutes after the break to make it 2-0 on the night and 4-0 on aggregate.

Helland hit the crossbar from a free-kick but substitute Akintola did make it 3-0 after 69 minutes when he cashed in on slack defending to head in from close range.

Helland then completed the rout with five minutes left when he tapped in Akintola's cross.
