Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kancheskis has applied for the vacant managerial post at Derry City.
According to reports in the Irish Mirror, the one-time Old Trafford star sees the position at the Brandywell as a stepping stone towards managing in England.
Derry sacked Peter Hutton last month and Paul Hegarty is taking charge of the side as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Kanchelskis has limited managerial experience, with his last role at Latvian side Fc Jurmala coming to a close almost a year ago.
The winger joined Manchester United from Shaktar Donetsk in 1991 and spent four seasons at the club.
He also appeared for Everton, Fiorentina, Rangers, Manchester City and Southampton.
