Ireland will play Oman in a friendly at the Aviva Stadium on 3 September, the FAI have have confirmed. 

The Oman fixture will provide Martin O'Neill with a further opportunity to run the rule over his squad as they set out on their Euro 2016 qualification campaign.

Ireland travel to Georgia to begin that campaign on 7 September.

Ireland previously met Oman in a friendly at Craven Cottage in September 2012, a match that ended in a 4-1 win with goals from Robbie Brady, Alex Pearce, Shane Long and Kevin Doyle.

Oman are coached by former Rangers and PSG manager Paul Le Guen and captained by Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.
