Robbie Williams fired Limerick to a third Airtricity League Premier Division win in six days as the Blues recorded a 1-0 victory against Bohemians at Thomond Park.

The Limerick left-back pounced in the 80th minute, heading Stephen Bradley's free-kick past Dean Delany as Limerick prevailed.

Early on, Bohemians had caused problems for the locals with Dinny Corcoran going close, but Limerick recovered from the shaky start.

Stuart Taylor's side were enthusiastic until the end, with Williams' contribution capping a fine spell which includes triumphs over Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk, and tonight’s victims.

The opening quarter was all about the heavy midfield traffic as neither outfit was able to stitch any meaningful passing sequence together.

That was chiefly because both teams had three in the centre of the park which made space difficult to locate and the respective defences comfortably dealt with whatever came through.

Out wide, Keith Buckley and Karl Moore craved involvement, but because of what was happening inside they didn't receive sufficient possession initially.

A chance was eventually crafted in the 20th minute when Karl Moore picked Samuel Oji's pocket, but the winger's cross was rifled over by Corcoran.

Limerick had an opportunity themselves in the 27th minute, but Craig Curran's effort was safely gathered by Bohs custodian Dean Delany.

Four minutes before the break, Delany came to the Gyspies' rescue again when making a splendid reflex-save to thwart Carel Tiofack.

Then, in first-half stoppage time, Rory Gaffney wriggled clear from a couple of challenges, but his blistering shot was deflected out for a corner.

Eight minutes after the restart, Bohs substitute Chris Lyons forced a save from Shane Cusack as the visitors' probed.

Limerick should have hit the front on 68 as Dave O'Leary and Joe Gamble combined effectively, but Oji was unable to guide the ball home.

The Blues were patient and they scored with 10 minutes left as Williams met Bradley's free-kick with a neat header.
