Dundalk have announced the signings of strikers Jason Byrne and Mark Quigley from Bohemians.

Byrne, a winner of five Premier Division titles and two FAI Cup winners’ medals, and former St Patrick’s Athletic man Quigley have signed one-year deals with the Louth club.

It brings the number of players already committed to play at Oriel Park in the 2011 season to 14.

Byrne said: ‘I’m looking forward to the new season; hopefully I’ll stay injury free in pre-season and for the rest of the year then. In the past few seasons, I’ve always aimed for 20 goals, but now that I’m getting a wee bit older I’ll be looking at around 15.

‘I would set a target of 15 for next season and anything after that would be a bonus.

‘Dundalk had a great start to the season this year but they hadn’t got the experience that the other teams had, plus the size of the squad as well.

‘But with myself and a couple of other players on board that have that experience, hopefully we can have a sustained challenge.'

Dundalk boss Foster is thrilled to have such talent in attack:

‘I think if you look at us now, with a frontline consisting of the likes of (Ross) Gaynor, Byrne, Quigley and (Daniel) Kearns, it’s quite formidable.

‘We’re delighted to get those boys on board. Obviously, there are certain areas of the pitch that we need to strengthen before pre-season.

‘We’re busy trying to do that but today is two additions and it’s fantastic for the football club and fantastic for the town, and I’m sure both boys will do great jobs for us next season.’
