Jason McAteer's return to the first team at Blackburn looks to have been short-lived as he has been dropped once again by manager Graeme Souness. McAteer returned to the Blackburn line-up as a substitute during the match against Sunderland last Saturday but now finds himself out of favour once again.
The Republic of Ireland winger was brought back in from the cold by Souness after he scored Ireland's goal in the vital 1-0 World Cup qualifier victory over Holland at Lansdowne Road. He had put in for a transfer away from Blackburn but his future looked somewhat clearer when he was recalled for last weekend's game. However, it now looks certain he will be on his way out of Ewood Park after Souness left him out of his 17-man squad for this weekend's match with Ipswich.
