Dominic Dale and Zhou Yuelong have progressed to the second stage of the Championship League in Milton Keynes.

The pair are the first players through to stage two Group B after coming top of their groups at Stadium MK on Tuesday.

Dale beat Louis Heathcote 3-0 and drew 2-2 with Stephen Maguire, before seeing off amateur Leo Fernandez 3-1 in the Group 5 decider.

"I am delighted to get through," two-time ranking event winner Dale said.

"I started off in the first match with a cue action I had set myself to use for the season, but felt it wasn't me and went back to my old one part way through the match.

"I was really focused, careful and diligent out there and it certainly worked today."

Yuelong progressed as winner of Group 6, having beaten Gerard Greene 3-0 in-between 2-2 draws with Zhao Jianbo and Ricky Walden.

The Championship League is being played across two blocks of eight days – 13-20 September and 28 September to 5 October.

Stage one features 32 groups of four players, with two tables per day at Stadium MK hosting one group each. The player who tops each group will progress to stage two.
