Scarlets centre Scott Williams has joined team-mate Rhys Priestland in being ruled out of Wales' tour of Japan due to injury.
Williams was among a quartet of Scarlets players to be injured in Friday's RaboDirect PRO12 semi-final defeat to Ulster, and his shoulder problem has proved serious enough to keep him out of the two-Test series with the Japanese.
"Scarlets centre Scott Williams has been ruled out of Wales' forthcoming two-test tour of Japan due to a reoccurring shoulder injury," said a Welsh Rugby Union media release.
"The 22-year-old will return to the Scarlets and receive further assessment on the injury. Williams will not be replaced in the Wales training squad."
Fly-half Priestland's absence from the trip to Japan was confirmed on Monday after he aggravated an Achilles injury in the warm-up at Ravenhill, with Cardiff Blues' youngster Rhys Patchell his replacement in the training squad.
Hooker Ken Owens, who spent two nights in a Belfast hospital after being carried off with a neck injury, and full-back Liam Williams (hamstring) are still being assessed by Wales medics, although Newport Gwent Dragons hooker Sam Parry has been called up as cover for Owens.
Wales interim head coach Robin McBryde will announce his final 27-man squad and captain for the tour on Tuesday.
