Ireland men finished the Cape Town Sevens in sixth place following a 31-12 quarter-final loss to Fiji.
Following an unbeaten run over the weekend, that featured wins over Australia and Samoa, Anthony Eddy's men fell short but will take plenty of positives from just their second event as a core team on the series.
Jordan Conroy and Terry Kennedy scored the Irish tries this morning.
