Charlie Mann re-routed Air Force One to Kempton instead of Newbury for his pre-Cheltenham racecourse gallop today.
The Upper Lambourn trainer felt the ground at the Berkshire track was too fast for his totesport Gold Cup hopeful so he decided to take him to Kempton for a spin on the all-weather surface.
‘He didn't go to Newbury because the ground was too quick so we took him to Kempton this morning,’ said Mann.
‘He enjoyed it, he looks fantastic and I'm pleased with him. Noel Fehily rode him, he was delighted with him and we're looking forward to a week on Friday.
‘He had a lead horse with him and they did a mile and a half on the all-weather.
‘It wasn't for fitness, it was just to get him out for the day. It was great and he enjoyed it. It worked really well.’
