Silent Oscar has been ruled out for the season after suffering a recurrence of a tendon injury.

The 10-year-old was a Grade One winner at the 2007 Punchestown Festival but missed the entirety of last season due to injury.

Rogers had hoped he would make his comeback in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown last month.

But after finding heat in his tendon on the weekend of the race, the County Lough has now been forced to give him yet more time on the sidelines.

‘He had some slight heat in his tendon before the Irish Champion so we decided to stop then, give him a year off and see how he is after that,’ said Rogers.

‘He is definitely out for the season and I have taken him out of the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.

‘Hopefully we will get him back as it is very minor what he has at the moment.

‘We'll leave him alone until next January and see.’
