Leixlip's Eoin Rheinisch (32) is a World Cup gold medalist from La Seu d'Urgell, Spain, and a seven-time World Cup finalist in his discipline.

At the 2004 Athens Games he finished 21st of 25, exiting after the preliminary round.

He reached an all-time world ranking high of eighth in 2006 and placed sixth at the European Championships in 2007 in Slovakia.

His first Olympics was in Beijing in 2008, where he finished fourth.

He then went on to finish ninth in the World Championships in 2009 at La Seu d'Urgell.

Rheinisch is a full time and highly-experienced athlete who travels the world for competition. He is a business and marketing graduate of Nottingham University and hails from Leixlip, Co Kildare, where his local Salmon Leap Canoe Club is based.
