Ireland recorded their second victory in the Women’s Road to London qualifying tournament in Belgium with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Russia.
The opening goal came from a penalty corner, which was converted by Michelle Harvey to give Ireland a deserved lead.
In the 33rd minute strong running by Alex Speers resulted in the awarding of Ireland's third penalty corner, which was smothered by the Russian keeper.
And from the resulting penalty corner, the ball was powered home by Audrey O’Flynn to send Ireland 2-0 up at half time.
Ireland started well after the break and eight minutes into the half a shot by Lisa Jacob resulted in a penalty corner from which O Flynn fired into the top right corner to send Ireland 3-0 up.
Ireland continued to create chances but could not extend their lead as they ran out 3-0 winners.
The third game of the qualifying event takes place against Mexico on Tuesday at noon.
Irish coach Gene Muller said: "Our corners were very good today and we performed well overall. We played with good structure and precision against a tricky opponent. The team are looking forward to a rest day tomorrow on the back of two good wins."
