A second-round 68 sees Leona Maguire one shot off the lead at the half-way stage of the Pelican Women's Championship in Florida.

The Cavan golfer, who led the field after a stunning 62 on Thursday, started on the 10th and had her first birdie on 14. Bogeys followed on the 18th and second holes, before two birdies on the sixth and ninth saw her finish on 10-under.

Jennifer Kupcho and Lexi Thompson lead the way on 11 under. World No 1 Nellie Korda and Sei Young Kim are among those one shot behind Maguire on nine under, with US Women’s Open winner Yuka Saso in the group on eight under.

Stephanie Meadow made the cut after firing a round of 70 that leaves her on level par.
