Leona Maguire is six shots off the lead ahead of the final round at the Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open.

The Co Cavan native carded a 70 for her strongest round of the tournament which leaves the Rio and Tokyo Olympian on three under in a tie for 15th.

England's Charley Hull, American Ryann O'Toole and Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn are joint leaders on nine under going into the final round.

Hull posted a three-under-par 69, matching her scores from the opening two rounds.

She would have finished on 10 under and been sole leader had it not been for a disappointing bogey on the par-three 16th - her only slip of the round, which contained four birdies as the 25-year-old remained in contention for a fifth tournament win.

Jutanugarn will have regrets as she was two shots clear heading to the 17th tee, but back-to-back bogeys saw her relinquish her lead, completing a mixed bag of a round that saw her card five birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.

South African Ashleigh Buhai and and Atthaya Thitikul are a shot further back on eight under, with it all to play for going into Sunday's final round.
