A strong back nine saw Stephanie Meadow recover for a level par 71 at the Marathon Classic in Ohio.

Three bogeys on the front nine saw the Irish golfer slip down the pecking order, but a birdie at 11 kick-started her round at Highland Meadows golf club.

Three more were to follow, as well as a dropped shot at the par-three 14th, as she finished for a 71 level par.

The 27-year-old finds herself seven shots adrift of co-leaders Youngin Chun and Canada's Alena Sharp.

Chun didn't drop a single shot in her round of 64, while Sharp’s bogey at the second was the only blemish in the copybook as she carded eight birdies.
