Stephanie Meadow suffered the agony of a play-off defeat at the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic in New York.
The Irish woman lost out to Eun Jeong Seong in sudden death after the pair were tied on were tied 12-under at the end of 72 holes.
Back they went to the par-three 18th, but it wasn't until the fourth play-off hole that a winner was found.
18-year-old Seong drained for a birdie ran in a birdie putt while Meadow could only hold par.
"I just made a couple mistakes, but made some great putts out there to get myself back in it," Meadow reflected afterwards.
"It was such a hard hole to have a playoff on because I was right between a 5-iron and a 4-hybrid. She made a great birdie."
