It is being reported that Davy Fitzgerald has agreed to remain as manager of the Clare hurlers until 2017.

Fitzgerald agreed a three-year extension after winning the All-Ireland crown last season.

But The Irish Daily Star is reporting today that he has committed to staying an extra year.

Clare were knocked out of this year's championship in the qualifiers by Wexford.

He has held the position since 2011.
