Galway are set to be without Fabienne Cooney for Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final against Cork after he appeal against a red card failed.
The defender was sent to the line in the first half of their Group 2 victory over Monaghan last month after an altercation with the Farney's Muireann Atkinson.
But sister Charlotte confirmed on RTÉ's Game On that the card has not be rescinded.
"We're going to have to go ahead without her unfortunately," she said.
"We've a very strong panel so another girl will slide into that position, no problem."
