All-Ireland club finalists Kilcoo got their Down senior championship campaign off to a good start, seeing off Mayobridge 1-13 to 0-08 in Newry.

In Cavan, Castlerahan beat Mullahoran 0-15 to 0-11 at Kingspan Breffni Park in their Round 3 contest, while Kingscourt saw off Laragh United 3-15 to 1-07.

Barna edged Salthill/Knocknacarra 0-13 to 0-11 in the Galway championship at Pearse Stadium, while a goal separated the sides in Longford as Fr Manning Gaels won out 1-12 to 0-12 against Carrickedmond.

James Stephens and O'Loughlin Gaels could not be separated in their Kilkenny Hurling League round three clash with both sides weighing in with 2-16 apiece at UPMC Nowlan Park.
