Clare GAA club Cratloe has confirmed that one of their members has tested positive for Covid-19.

The club confirmed the news on Twitter, saying that they will follow national guidelines in dealing with close contacts of the player in question.

"All other activity within the club can continue," the statement read.

"The club will continue to follow national advice to prevent the spread of Covid-19."

The case follows a call from TDs in the midlands to see all sporting activity in Kildare, Laois and Offaly cancelled due to the worsening situation with the pandemic there.

While a GAA club in Meath suspended all of their activities yesterday following a player's positive test for the disease.

Cratloe's SHC match against Eire Og on Sunday is now in doubt, as is the club's football championship fixture against Clondegad next weekend.
