Former Armagh star Oisín McConville has announced his retirement from Gaelic football.
The Crossmaglen Rangers forward, winner of the 2002 All-Ireland and six All-Ireland Club titles, said the time was right to call time on his career after last weekend’s defeat to St Brigid’s in the Club semi-finals.
He said: “I have had an unbelievable time playing Gaelic football and I've won so much, but for me it was much more than that - it was my life for so many years.
"It is going to be hard, and there is going to be a big void but I have plenty of things to replace it.”
“For my own personal reasons it is the right time - I have been picking up injuries and different things like that.”
McConville, 37, also won seven Ulster titles with Armagh and ten Ulster Club titles.
