Tipperary staged an amazing comeback in their second round All-Ireland football qualifier in Thurles to beat Carlow on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-13.

Brian Kelly opened the scoring for Carlow with a free. They almost stretched their lead further as Thomas Walshe had a good goal chance but missed and after ten minutes the score was only 0-01 to 0-00 to Carlow. Tipp couldn’t seem to score and it fell to Declan Browne to open their account with a free after 20 minutes. Tipp looked lethargic and at half time they trailed by four points on a scoreline of 0-07 to 0-03.

A different Tipp side came out for the second half though and began an amazing comeback with Browne getting three in a row. He would spearhead a revival that Carlow were not able to deal with and seemed a different player, finishing with a personal tally of 1-09.
