A Colin Corkery inspired Cork romped to an easy victory, 1-23 to 0-7, over Tipperary in the replay of the Munster Football Final at Parc Ui Chaoimh. Corkery, who as team captain collected the cup in front of 18,000 fans after the game, scored 11 points in all and Larry Tompkins even had the luxury of taking off the Nemo Rangers man with ten minutes to go.

The game was in stark contrast to last week's offering, when Tipperary could have, and indeed should have, beaten the hotly tipped favourites. This time round Cork roared into action thanks to three quick Corkery points and with Declan Browne being kept under wraps by Anthony Lynch, Tipperary were on a hiding to nothing.

0-12 to 0-3 was the score at the interval, and with Phil Clifford scoring a goal for Cork just after the break, any hope of a Tipp comeback was quickly extinguished. Corkery, Fionnan Murray, Nicholas Murphy and Clifford were the chief scorers in the second half for Cork, who can now look forward to a All-Ireland quarter-final in two weeks time.
