Shane Breen made it a hat-trick for Ireland when he won the Accumulator competition, on board Balloon, at Birmingham's Horse of the Year Show.

The Tipperary man saw off competition from English challenger Guy Williams and Larino, who trailed the Irish rider by over a second at the finish.

In the same competition Anthony Condon kept Irish presence to the fore with a fifth place on Special Lux.

Breen's win came immediately after Cork’s Billy Twomey claimed victory in the jump-off competition at the same event with Wings Sublieme.

Dermott Lennon took Ireland's first win of the event on Friday, steering Loughview Lou Lou to victory in the morning's speed competition, while Breen and Ominerale Courcelle claimed third.

The Grand Prix at the Birmingham event takes place on Sunday night.
