Shane Breen was best of an Irish-dominated class with a second place in the HSI-sponsored Millstreet Masters jump-off class at Millstreet's international show in Co. Cork today.
The competition, which attracted 46 entries, was won by Britain's Guy Williams on the Irish-owned Bijou Van De Vijfheide, but Irish riders took six of the top ten places.
Breen, aboard Sarah-Jane Knight's mare Zarnita, posted one of just three double clears, but was over four seconds off the pace of the British winner, while Michael Hutchinson placed third.
Capt Michael Kelly and Ringwood Abbey took sixth place, Dermott Lennon and the Irish Sport Horse Newmarket Venture Clover claimed seventh, with Conor Swail and Martha Louise finished in ninth. Another Irish Sport Horse, Will Wimble, took tenth place, piloted by Alexander Butler.
