Ireland's women cricketers will face number one seeds Pakistan in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 World Cup qualifier after an eight-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in their final group game. 

Sri Lanka put Ireland into bat at Merrion CC but they only made 62 for nine off their 20 overs.

The visitors made the Irish total with 31 balls still to be bowled and for the loss of just two wickets.

The top three (two finalists and winner of 3rd and 4th place play-off) qualify for the finals next year in Bangladesh.
