Irish boxers Jason Quigley and Joe Ward have arrived back in Ireland after winning silver and bronze medals at the AIBA World Amateur Boxing championships in Kazakhstan.

Donegal's Jason Quigley took silver and made history as the first Irishman to claim a medal greater than a bronze at that level.

Joe Ward from Moate in Co Westmeath took bronze.

Quigley told RTÉ: "I’m absolutely delighted, it was hard to take at the time – getting a silver medal, but whenever you come back to your family and supporters it makes it all worthwhile."
