Karolina Graczyk sees her upcoming bout with Katie Taylor as a valuable experience according to Mustafa Kocinoglu, vice president of the Polish Boxing Federation.
Graczyk meets Taylor in a support bout on finals night at the Road to Rio Elite 2013 National Championships at Dublin’s Citywest Hotel on 22 February.
The four-rounder with the six-time Polish champion will be Taylor’s first outing since she won an historic gold medal at London 2012.
Taylor has beaten the three-time EU silver medallists two times in the past – including a victory in the 2011 EU lightweight final in Katowice, Poland.
Despites the defeats, Kocinoglu says that Graczyk is very much looking forward to the rematch with the three-time AIBA World female boxer of the year.
“Karolina welcomes the opportunity to wage her next fight with the best boxer on the globe, he said.
“Karolina is thinking seriously about her future career and wants to fight with the best boxers. She’s returned to boxing after a few months break.
“It is a great honour for her (to box Taylor). She does not feel pressure or stage fright before this fight. She knows Katie well.
“They boxed two times and each subsequent confrontation is for her a very important and valuable experience.”
The Elite Championships begin at Dublin’s National Stadium on Friday and will continue at the Stadium over the next two weekends.
The finals will be held at the Citywest Hotel on 22 February.
