Irish Olympians Ken Egan and John Joe Nevin will both miss out on this week's round of World Series of Boxing (WSB) matches.

Egan, of Miami Gallos, and Nevin, of Paris United, will both be back in action for back-to-back fixtures against Los Angeles and Milan before the Irish Senior Championships in February.

Egan misses tonight's meeting with Memphis as his 45-day medical suspension is not up until Thursday.

But the ten-time Irish senior champion, who will be aiming for an unprecedented 11th Irish senior belt on the trot at the National Stadium next month, will be back in action against LA on 13 and 27 January.

The Neilstown southpaw was hit with a 45-day medical suspension after receiving a cut over his right eye during his November 23rd clash with Anthony Dorian of LA, a bout with Egan comprehensively won.

Nevin, who has won his opening two matches with Paris United, will miss the trip to Moscow to meet the Kremlin Bears at the weekend.

However, the Cavan Boxing Club bantamweight, who will be aiming for his fourth Irish Senior title in a row next month, will line up for United in back-to-back fixtures against Milan on 14 and 28 January.

The WSB Team Championships is being contested across three four-team groups in the Americas, Asia and Europe. The group winners plus the best runner up qualify for the WSB semi-finals.

Miami are four points behind table-toppers LA going into tonight's clash with Memphis, while Paris United are joint top of the table with Milan ahead of their showdown with bottom of the table Kremlin Bears.
