‘When I think of hope during the recent lockdown, this image is what immediately comes to mind. I noticed that so many pictures of rainbows and messages of hope and support had begun appearing in windows in neighbourhoods nationwide as families tried to stay positive during the lockdown. Children are an amazing source of hope and resilience so it was natural to illustrate how they have helped us all be hopeful during the last few months. While there has been so much darkness, I believe lockdown has given us a renewed appreciation for the simple things and provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for families to reconnect and create treasured memories.’

Shauna Harrison is based in the Liberties, Dublin. Having a background in fashion design she developed a huge love for illustration. All of her illustrations are hand-drawn, composed with pen and watercolours, before some edits are made on her computer. She loves to capture her favourite monuments and places across Dublin city as well as working on bespoke commissions for clients. Lately she has been focusing on illustrating a ‘Share Good News’ print series, with all of the profits from the original series going to the Feed the Heroes fund. Her work has been featured on CNN, The Journal, the Irish Independent and RTÉ News.
