Water Protesters Outside the Dáil
Anti Water protestors blocked the cars of members of the Oireachtas attempting to leave Leinster House and there were rowdy scenes as Gardaí attempted to maintain order last night.
A female Garda was knocked unconscious as missiles were thrown by protestors. Witnesses said she was hit by a traffic cone. Former Justice Minister Alan Shatter who was caught up in the protest accused the demonstrations of being facist.
Joining Sean this morning was Senator Mary Moran and Anti Austerity Alliance Councillor Michael O'Brien.
‘Schools out for the summer’, and some parents get ahead of the rush and buy uniforms now. Yet despite the discounts on offers in the shops, parents of larger children are paying more for uniforms as VAT is applied to bigger sizes.
The Irish Schoolwear Association is calling for the current VAT exemption to be extended to all primary school uniforms.

One minute they're playing with trains and teddy bears, the next they're rolling their eyes at you and not so politely telling you they need their privacy.
The term tween may be a newfangled one but it is a very real phenomenon and joining Sean this morning were two people who know all about it, journalist Dave Robbins, whose 10-year-old daughter has already put him in the ‘embarrassing dad’ category, and Colman Noctor, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and author of the book, ‘Cop On’.
