    Mornings with Dave Fanning Search for Ireland’s Most Musical Family

    Brothers, sisters, cousins, in-laws, step fathers, grannies – the show is looking for families that play together to enter the competition. Non family members are permitted – as long as family is at the heart of it – as with The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and The Fureys and Davey Arthur.

    Send us a 4’00 maximum clip performing the song or music of your choice – it does not need to be an original piece of music.

    Upload it to Youtube and email us the link to davefanning@rte.ie.

    You also need to send us a 100 word supporting paragraph telling us your story and why you should be chosen.

    The closing date for entries is 5pm on Wednesday  26th August.

    Our final will be held the first week in September and finalists need to be available then to perform before our judges.

    The judges’ decision is final.

    Set Dancing benefits Parkinson's Disease

    There is a wonderful picture in today's Irish Independent of a couple set dancing & what is more interesting is that new research indicates that Irish set dancing could be beneficial to people with Parkinson's Disease. Miriam is joined by Nora Cunningham, who is one of those pictured in newspaper dancing with her husband Tom.

    Legendary guitarist Brian May

    Miriam's next guest is English musician, singer, songwriter & astrophysicist who achieved international fame as the guitarist of legendary rock band Queen. Brian May has written & performed some of the most recognisable anthems of all time with Queen & is officially the world's second-greatest EVER guitarist.  Brian is playing Dublin's Olympia Theatre with Kelly Ellis on June 30th.

    Ireland's first celebrity chef Sean Kinsella

    In studio with Miriam is award-winning chef & culinary historian, Mairtin Mac Con Iomaire to talk about Ireland's well known chef, Sean Kinsella, who died this week aged 81. Sean was owner of the world-wide known restaurant the Mirabeau, in Sandycove in the 70s & 80s.
